

WPL Receives National Award

During the DuPont Specialist National Awards Ceremony held Wednesday February 5th two WPL specialists were awarded for their exceptional work in the Residential and Commercial markets. Thomas Evans, Business Director – Americas for DuPont Performance Building Solutions, announced Jose Gastelum, of Peoria, AZ., Residential Specialist of the Year, and then later that evening Brandon Norman, of Frisco, TX, Commercial Specialist of the Year.
Both awards honor a DuPont™ Tyvek® Specialist for exceptional work in their field and is based on initiative, involvement with industry members, enthusiasm, and sales growth. WPL is thrilled that Jose Gastelum and Brandon Norman represent the top among an industry leading specialist network—a national group of more than 190 highly-trained field representatives that are available for onsite consulting, training, and assistance with each installation.
Below are highlights to the year they had in 2024:
Jose Gastelum 2024 Sales = Grew overall sales by $3mm
Key Highlights:
- Instrumental in building winning relationship with Shea Homes Trilogy through managing field trainings, sales/marketing presentations, and working with estimators and QA team.
- Produced bilingual installation videos for Shea installers
- Although he is the Technical Field Specialist Leader in southwest, Jose assisted w. bilingual training in Oklahoma for a key homebuilder to help grow the market by 38%
- Creates influential videos that generate thousands of views on WPL YouTube channel.
- Developed custom builder handbooks with details of approved installations and integrates RMS into his daily industry outreach to help develop details for all trades.
- Partners with Juan Ventura annually to teach a building science class at Yavapai College.
- Jose’s integrity, exceptional customer service and education extends to everyone.
Brandon Norman 2024 Sales = $3.8mm +31% vs 2023
Key Highlights:
- Achieved flashing attachment rate growth through focused conversions of FlexWrap EZ and VersaFlange at key framers.
- Outreach with DFW commercial dealers and brokers led to +13% increase of CommercialWrap sales and +184% increase of CommercialWrap-D.
- Active member in several industry associations/councils.
- Being outspoken and knowledgeable during countless trainings enables him to highlight the benefits of the service and support from the WPL technical field team.
